Roster reference
The Hidden Ones Characters: Full Roster Overview
The final test names more than twenty playable Outcasts, plus a separate cast of bosses and NPCs. This page separates those groups, lists how each name is acquired, and gives every playable kit a one-line plan so you can tell the carries from the support pieces before you spend anything.

What counts as a character here
The test build names more than twenty playable Outcasts, but no launch roster count has been published. That is why this page does not print a total: treat the list as the named set from the November 4 build, not as a promise that every name ships.
Three groups are kept apart. Playable Outcasts have a kit, a role label and an unlock route. Bosses are fought, not owned, even when a boss also appears in story scenes. NPCs are world characters who open systems or hand out quests. Mixing the groups is the main reason roster pages go wrong: a boss with a spectacular moveset is not evidence of a playable kit.
Some entries are thinner than others. Xi's role as a blade rushdown character is confirmed, but detail on his full loop is limited; Bai Shixue and Yun's legacy material are marked Unconfirmed below. Thin data is not the same as a weak character.
How characters are acquired
Acquisition is split between the opening pool, story progress, two banner types, events, a guide reward and the shop. The routes matter because they decide which advice applies to a free account and which assumes pulls.
- Opening pool — Zhang Chulan, Feng Baobao and Wang Ye are the starting characters. Some sources place Feng Baobao at chapter 3 and Zhang Chulan at chapter 5 instead; either way those three are the free core.
- Standard banner — paid with Lingxu Coin, pity at 70 pulls; Lingxu comes from commissions, sign-in, tutorials, rank rewards and the World-Entry Guide.
- Limited banner — paid with Xuanhuang Yu, separate pity and the same 70-pull guarantee; 120 pulls is enough to buy the current UP character.
- Luotian Dajiao — the weekly trial opens Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and pays Xuanhuang Yu, the main free route into the limited pool.
- Events — Feng Zhenghao comes from the Jinmen tournament event, The Heavenly Master from a limited summon pool or large-event shards, and Xia He from the launch pre-registration reward.
- Guide and shop — Rong Shan is a World-Entry Guide stage 2 reward, the seven-day sign-in gives an SR, and Xuantan Coin covers season-limited shop characters.
Shards are the slow path: the Outcast Dossier drops character shards, and spare stamina is best spent there after the daily loops. The gacha and currency guide covers the pools; the beginner's guide covers the first week.
Playable roster at a glance
Unlock routes are listed broadly because the final-test data does not itemize which pool holds every name. Use the 70-pull pity and 120-pull mint on the pool that lists your target, and do not assume a limited tag without a confirmed source.
| Character | Role | Unlock route | One-line game plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zhang Chulan | Burst skirmisher | Start; chapter 5 hand-off | Taunt, break guard with Palm Thunder, finish after 3A or a second Swift Thunder. |
| Feng Baobao | Relentless pressure | Start; chapter 3 hand-off | Force a launch, keep it alive, stop when the target lands. |
| Wang Ye | Zone controller | Start | Open the formation, stop at 3A, let the team fire inside it. |
| Rong Shan | Mid-range bruiser | World-Entry Guide stage 2 | Golden Light Shroud, 3A, then the Golden Sea Dragon Grasp throw near a wall. |
| The Heavenly Master (Zhang Zhiwei) | Burst support / summon | Limited summon pool or event shards | Stack Thunder Seals, detonate with Palm Thunder; keep him in slot 2 or 3. |
| Feng Zhenghao | Support / add-clear | Jinmen tournament event | Assist slot: sustained damage clears adds while the main handles the boss. |
| Xia He | Rushdown / vision denial | Launch pre-registration reward | Build Desire Value, then blind the opponent before committing. |
| Zhuge Qing | Ranged control | Banner pool | Wind Rope at 8 m, take two hits, cancel, and reset with normals. |
| Zhang Lingyu | Balanced bruiser | Banner pool | Two normals into a skill, then 3A loops; the fifth hit is the launch. |
| Ru Hua (Firearm / Serpent) | Zoner | Banner pool | Hold the long lane and interrupt dashes, accepting that normals cause no hitstun. |
| Ba Lun | Grapple pressure | Banner pool | Rapid Slash in, Flying Bird Throw, then chase the knockdown with Flying Armbar. |
| Lu Linglong | Evasion counter | Banner pool | Long-press skill 1 for Cloudstep Trail, dodge into Bullet Time, answer with Roaming Cloud Step. |
| Yuan Tao | Randomized refiner | Banner pool | Refine a bead, cancel, and play what you drew; there is no fixed route. |
| Lu Jin | Talisman control | Banner pool | 3A into skill 1, cancel with Five Thunder Talisman, and use the wall for double damage. |
| Feng Xingtong | Summon / trap | Banner pool | Set Spirit-Devouring Array, pull with Shadow-Snatching Hand, finish with Yellow Springs Annihilation. |
| Ling Jiu | Control / gamble | Banner pool | Short presses set the rhythm; long presses are for a read, and below 20% health the long pull costs no health. |
| Han Dan | Grapple bruiser | Banner pool | 4A launch, pause, Clang Hammer, then land and fire the Beep Gun water cannon. |
| Yun | Mid-range zoner | Banner pool | Use the seven-hit string, pull the stick back to reset the rhythm, and let Huawu speed up the charged skill. |
| Xi | Blade rushdown | Banner pool | Fast normals and heavy hits; the full loop still needs final-test confirmation. |
| Zhuge Meng | Setup / cancel pressure | Banner pool | Guard-cancel loops, a 1:3 dodge-to-skill ratio, and the ultimate at around 40% target health. |
| Bai Shixue | Qi-drain skirmisher | Not confirmed | Unconfirmed — framework only; no final-test build advice. |
| Liu Yanyan | Team synergy | Not stated in final-test data | Roster context only; no final-test kit detail. |
| Zhuge Bai | Team synergy | Not stated in final-test data | Roster context only; no final-test kit detail. |
The names worth learning first
Zhang Chulan is the best teaching kit. His six-hit string interrupts on the first three hits and launches on the fourth; stopping before the fourth produces the taunt that baits a response. Golden Light Incantation launches on a full charge with super armor, Palm Thunder converts the launch, and Swift Thunder enters without spending stamina on the step. The full build guide covers the routes.
Feng Baobao has the highest ceiling and input cost. She is the only character who can kill from one combo, and the kit is built around keeping a launch alive: step-cancel the fourth hit, re-enter with 4A, never finish 5A in the stable route. The 45% crit threshold is a test-server condition, not a suggestion. Her combo guide breaks down both routes.
Zhuge Qing is the default ranged control pick. Wind Rope covers 8 m on a 30-second cooldown, binds for 1.8 s and adds 2 s of stiffness on a floating target. The price is 950 elemental mastery after level 70 breakthrough, below which Li Sigil: Fire loses its second burn and his Train No.7 output drops by roughly 15% to 20%.
Wang Ye is T1 control built on formations rather than damage. Stop at 3A: his fourth normal launches and breaks his own loop, so cancel before it. In a skill team he must open Wind Empress Mystic Gate before Zhuge Qing's fire to grant the 8% all-damage bonus inside it.
Lu Linglong turns defense into offense. Long-pressing skill 1 grants Cloudstep Trail for 9 seconds, improves perfect-dodge success and swaps in Roaming Cloud Step. A perfect dodge triggers Bullet Time, slowing the opponent while her cooldowns keep ticking. As a third slot her aura adds roughly 12% to 15% damage for 6 seconds.
Ru Hua (Firearm) is the pure zoner. Her range interrupts melee approaches, which is why she holds T0 in PvP, but her normals have slow startup, cause no hitstun and she has no red risk move. Pair her with someone who can convert the space.
Zhang Lingyu is the beginner-friendly sub-DPS. His five-hit string launches on the fifth hit, two normals into a skill beats mashing, and a balanced set with cooldown reduction suits him. In Biyou Village his stacking shield gives 30% all-damage reduction with almost no investment. Old complaints about his thunder hitboxes belong to a previous build.
Kits that are still unconfirmed
Bai Shixue's entire entry is Unconfirmed: her Qi Devour framework, her three skills and her ultimate come from the older Hitori no Shita mobile game, and the final test has no verified data for her. The ability names are useful for recognizing the character, not for planning a build. She appears in the roster table for context and nowhere in the tier list.
Yun's final-test role is confirmed: mid-range zoner, seven-hit string, a step-back reset, two-stage skill 1 and Huawu. His legacy skill names and old combo framework are Unconfirmed; use the role, not the old route.
Unconfirmed means the source is older than the final test or unverifiable inside it. It is a warning about evidence, not a claim that the character is weak or unfinished.
The boss cast
Bosses are separate from the playable roster even when they appear in story scenes. Train No.7 contains eleven bosses, and the two second-phase fights rotate weekly. These are the encounters the final test documents in detail.
| Boss | Where | One thing to know |
|---|---|---|
| Ma Xianhong | Biyou Village | His Ru Hua puppets keep a damage shield on him; kill them first, then break the black armor with multi-hit attacks. |
| True Yuan Tao | Train No.7 | He moves and follows one squad member, so the old hide-behind spot no longer works; three parallel red circles mean Ice Burst. |
| He Xi | Abyss of Tao | Poison darts leave about 10 seconds of poison and the backstab has only half a second of warning; never stand still. |
| Li Si | Train No.7 | Four players stand by the clones and normal-attack the real body when it shows; all five clones broken leaves him weakened. |
| Bian Min | Train No.7 | The opening grab kills anyone nearby; survive it and his artifacts stop working. |
| Zhong Qiang | Train No.7, weekly rotation | Hide behind the cargo containers for Destruction Strike and time the dodge for the shadow clone. |
| Xue Pan | Train No.7, weekly rotation | Control works while he is not invincible; break the beads to end the invincibility early and do not step on leftover traps. |
| Feng Shayan | Luotian Dajiao | She opens with a wide burn; close the distance and interrupt it before the arena fills. |
Two habits apply to all of them. Save Wang Ye's formation for the 30% enrage tell: the interrupt and 4-second stun are worth roughly 8% of a health bar. Shields and armor are a hit-count problem before they are a damage problem, which is why Lu Jin and Zhuge Qing are recommended for Ma Xianhong. The Train No.7 and Biyou Village guides cover the phases.
NPCs and their systems
Cheng Zhien opens the Xinyuan Secret Realm at the Jinzhou Port logistics lab; the fifteen-floor dungeon adds two to four random affixes per floor, so adjust skills before entering. Tu Houzi unlocks the Fishing Treasure Map loop after the main quest "Seeking Gold in the Dragon"; five catches a day pays five ordinary maps.
Feng Shayan is a boss in Luotian Dajiao and an NPC elsewhere. Treat her as a boss when she has a health bar, and do not add her to the playable roster.
Which names are launch-safe
A launch-safe pick needs a confirmed kit, a low gear floor and a route that survives a balance pass. Zhang Chulan, Wang Ye, Zhang Lingyu and Han Dan meet those conditions best: their plans are easy to read, their thresholds are low, and none depends on a single unverified trick. Ru Hua is safe to acquire, but her lack of hitstun teaches spacing rather than combo discipline.
Feng Baobao is the opposite case: confirmed and powerful, but not a safe first pick, because the 45% crit threshold and launch-height timing are real barriers. Build her second. Zhuge Qing sits in the middle: strong at 950 elemental mastery, ordinary without it. Compare the tier list, then read the beginner's guide for the first-week split.
Built from test-build data collected on October 25, 2026; the final test opens November 4. Anything marked Unconfirmed is provisional. Corrections and newer first-hand data are welcome — see the about page.
